It is located on the western side of the Taygetos mountain range, at an altitude of 550-600m.
Just above the village, on a small plateau at an altitude of 1000m, is built the Monastery of Panagia tis Yatrissa.
The temples are also of particular interest:

Dormition of the Virgin, 12th century, with excellent wall painting.
Agios Ioannis, painted in 1706 by Kallergis.
Agios Nikolaos, with 11th century marbles and an old Holy Altar.
It is worth mentioning the hosting in Milia of Theodoros Kolokotronis (at a young age) and his family, for three years, in the tower of the Kriparakon family. Theodoros Kolokotronis’ father, Constantis, was buried in Milia in the Kyvelia settlement, where his tomb is preserved.
